In August, Urmila, a WLO member in Nepal, spent her time building a shelter made of bamboo. In addition, Urmila spent many hours distributing blankets to those in the village. During extreme cold weather, blankets are given to those living in tents or temporary shelters. The weather can often cause great illness to the children and elderly. Some even face death.
This month Urmila has set her sights to volunteer at a nearby school in the village of Nagre Gagarche. The village is located 120km away from Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. However, due to poor conditions of the road, it can often take 6/7 hours to reach the village.
Urmila visited the Shree Tashi Bal Bikas Lower Secondary School, which consists of rougly 90 students. She spent her time there distributing schools supplies such as books, pens, and pencils. She also delivered get-well letters written by Corona del Mar High School WLO members.
World Love Organization is always touched by the work Urmila has done in helping give back to her community in every way she can.
